University & College Partnership Programme
From Classroom to Cleanroom
India's semiconductor plants need job-ready operators, technicians and engineers. Your students are the right talent. We help make them day-one ready, certified and connected to employers.
The gap
Strong fundamentals. Different day-one skills.
What graduates bring
- Strong fundamentals in devices, circuits and physics
- ECE, EEE, instrumentation, mechanical, chemical and physics disciplines
- Theory-first learning
What a plant needs on day one
- Cleanroom protocol and contamination control
- ESD discipline and safety
- Operating production equipment
- SPC and quality documentation
- Working to SOPs on shift
These are learnable skills, taught the industry way and assessed on demonstrated ability, not attendance.
Why partner
What the partnership means
Students
Role-specific semiconductor pathways, hands-on skills, Nirji Ready certification and access to employers.
Faculty
Train-the-trainer certification, industry-aligned teaching material and exposure to current plant practice.
Institution
Industry-linked programmes and labs, stronger placements and a recognised place in India's semiconductor ecosystem.
Region
A visible semiconductor talent base that helps the state attract investment.
How it works
A phased partnership
Every college starts at Stage 1. Colleges with labs and capacity move faster; others grow into it.
- Stage 1
MoU
A simple, low-commitment first step to formalise intent.
- Stage 2
Role pathways
Map your disciplines to specific plant roles.
- Stage 3
Readiness & pilot
Capability review, faculty certification, first cohort.
- Stage 4
Training centre
An on-campus academy with labs and equipment.
- Stage 5
Strategic partner
More pathways, cohorts and roles at scale.
Role pathways
Map your disciplines to plant roles
Technician track
Polytechnic, ITI, diploma
Engineering track
ECE, EEE, Instrumentation, Mechanical, Chemical
Design track
ECE, EEE, VLSI electives
Readiness
Where does your college stand?
| Readiness | You have | We start with |
|---|---|---|
| Ready to start | Relevant departments and students; no semiconductor lab yet | MoU, pathway mapping, faculty orientation |
| Ready to deliver | Faculty capacity, basic electronics labs and classrooms | Faculty certification and a pilot cohort |
| Ready to scale | Space, leadership commitment and a regional talent mandate | On-campus training centre and multiple cohorts |
Partners are qualified on four measures: Capability · Quality · Outcomes · Compliance

FAQs
Common questions
Do we need a cleanroom to partner?
No, not to start. Most colleges begin with an MoU and role pathways; lab and training-centre requirements come in later stages.
Which engineering branches are relevant?
ECE, electrical, instrumentation, mechanical, chemical, physics and materials science, plus polytechnic and ITI programmes for technician roles.
Who certifies our students?
Nirji Semicon assesses independently and awards Nirji Ready certification.
